We are looking for a Data Specialist to join our Business Intelligence Team. The ideal candidate will specialize in analytics and statistical analysis. This role is crucial for analyzing and interpreting large, complex datasets using statistical tools and programming languages. The specialist will analyze operational and well-being data to identify trends, uncover biases, and develop frameworks that enhance program performance, as well as client and recruitment outcomes.This pivotal role entails designing models, constructing analytics frameworks, and fostering close collaboration with diverse organizational teams, including program managers and business leaders. Your analytical insights will inform operational decisions, formulate client recommendations, enhance well-being strategies, and catalyze innovation.Main Responsibilities:Model Development: distinct from leading strategy, you will design and develop machine learning models and pipelines using cloud tools.Data Analysis: Translate business needs into technical solutions by identifying opportunities and framing problems with stakeholders.Performance Monitoring: Validate model performance and iterate to optimize for accuracy and efficiency.Collaboration: Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders and collaborate with the wider team to implement data-driven solutions.Build dashboards, reports, and automated monitoring systems in Looker Studio or similar BI tools.Preferred SkillsProgramming: Proficiency in Python is required, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and SciPy.Database Management: Strong SQL skills for data wrangling and manipulation.Machine Learning: Practical knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning (classification, regression, clustering) using frameworks like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud-based data science platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data processing and model building.Studies & Experience:English B2 - Required.Oral and written comprehension.Appropriate use of language.3+ years in a quantitative role (Analytics consultant, Quantitative Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar) with proven ability to navigate ambiguous environments.Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.An advanced degree is a plus, but not required.Requirements:Meeting or exceeding all metrics in your current role for the last 3 monthsMinimum of 95% attendanceMinimum of 1 year as a TELUS Digital employeeMinimum of 1 year in the current position and current account/departmentNo active hints for success (above hint 3 for GT)Schedule flexibility - RequiredCompleted the position-specific required course from the Learning Multiverse Fundamentals - MandatoryCore competencies:Supporting client engagements in a consultative wayFocusing on customersEmbracing technologyManaging self-developmentBenefits and Perks:Opportunity to work at the intersection of AI, linguistics, and human judgment, driving impact in a rapidly evolving industry.Hybrid position (Remote/Onsite)Exposure to cutting-edge AI projects with a global client.Growth opportunities as the program scales.Equal Opportunity EmployerAt TELUS Digital, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
