About the role
The Butler owns the guests’ in-suite experience, delivering premium service that is exceptional and memorable. As part of the Guest Relations team, the Butler liaises between guests and all Hotel and Marine Departments, proactively anticipating guest needs and expectations. The role includes full accountability for each assigned suite’s maintenance and look and feel, as well as the flawless delivery of amenities.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Retreat guests are comfortable and knowledgeable about their suite, amenities, ship offerings, ports of call, concierges and Retreat privileges.
- Serve as the Retreat guest’s personal point of contact and advocate for seamless inter-departmental communication and delivery.
- Taste-test and screen services and food items to ensure impeccable standards before guest use.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of guest-facing service experience in a luxury environment.
- Speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests, and read and write English to understand and interpret written procedures.
- Give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms, present information effectively, and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
- Confident, well-groomed appearance with a warm and welcoming demeanor.
- Strong emotional intelligence, resourceful thinking, and working knowledge of conflict resolution, food and beverages, and the ability to speak about and properly serve such items.
- Outstanding hospitality, communication and organizational skills, effective decision-making abilities, and keen attention to detail.
