About the role
Yanfeng is seeking a buyer (indirect) to manage sourcing and procurement of the indirect materials, goods, and services needed to support the operation of a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing plant. The role focuses on timely availability, cost optimization, quality standards, and supplier relationships.
Yanfeng Safety Systems México integrates automotive restraint safety components, including airbag modules, seatbelts, and steering wheels. The business has a research and development center with test, design, and engineering capabilities, and manufacturing facilities in Europe, China, and México.
Responsibilities
- Manage sourcing and procurement of indirect materials, goods, and services.
- Support timely availability while optimizing costs and maintaining quality standards.
- Develop strong relationships with suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, preferably in automotive or manufacturing.
- Experience managing indirect procurement categories in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with supplier negotiations, quotation analysis, and cost reduction.
- Experience with SAP is desirable; experience with another ERP system is also noted.
- Advanced conversational English skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural manufacturing environment.
- Automotive Tier 1 experience is required.
- Travel availability and resilience to work with multicultural know-how.
