RiskOne HR Consulting is conducting an executive search on behalf of one of our distinguished clients in the banking sector for a Chief Executive Officer. The organization plays an important role in supporting agricultural and rural communities by providing financing solutions.
This exceptional leadership opportunity calls for a strategic and forward-thinking executive to lead the Bank into its next phase of growth. The successful candidate will set the strategic direction of the organization, drive business performance and profitability, and lead the execution of initiatives that strengthen the Bank’s market position while fostering meaningful growth within the agricultural sector.
Responsibilities
CreditProvides executive oversight of the Bank’s credit administration and credit quality, ensuring adherence to established policies, sound lending practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.Oversees the loan portfolio to ensure compliance with established underwriting standards, prudent credit practices, and the Bank’s financial and capital requirements, including applicable regulatory minimums and any actions or agreements established by the Farm Credit Administration (FCA).Directs and oversees loan servicing activities to ensure borrowers’ credit needs are addressed in a sound, constructive, responsive, and timely manner while maintaining appropriate credit quality and risk management standards.
Operations and Organizational ManagementProvides executive oversight of the Bank’s physical assets, ensuring they are appropriately safeguarded, maintained, and accurately recorded in the Bank’s financial records and applicable public records, in accordance with Puerto Rico laws and municipal requirements.Provides strategic direction and oversight of the Bank’s business activities to promote operational efficiency, organizational effectiveness, and the consistent delivery of professional, high-quality service.Develops and oversees the Bank’s organizational structure, ensuring the appropriate delegation of authority, accountability, and responsibilities to members of the management team, subject to Board approval when required.Ensures the Bank operates within the requirements of applicable laws and regulations while maintaining business practices consistent with established ethical and community standards.
Board ActivitiesProvides for the keeping of all records; has proper custody of all funds, securities and assets, and makes financial and operating reports periodically to the Board of Directors and to stockholdersProvides timely and accurate Call Reports to FCAEnsures board and committee minutes are prepared accurately and provided on a timely basis to all directors, the Bank and FCA
Finance OperationsManages the budget and maintains controls to ensure performance within the budget while ensuring accounting records are kept observing Generally Accepted Accounting Principle.Provides for the keeping of all records; has proper custody of all funds, securities and assets; and makes financial and operating reports periodically to the Board of Directors and to stockholders. Directs fiscal and accounting activities, including operating and capital budgeting
Human Resources ManagementAttracts, develops, and inspires a highly qualified and professional team, fostering a culture of excellence and service that enables the Bank to effectively support the financial needs of Puerto Rico’s agricultural and rural communities.Establishes performance standards for employees and compensates employees on the basis of performance. Directs personnel activities, including human resource planning, staffing, personnel development training, counseling, and performance reviews.
Business DevelopmentOrganizes member relations meetings, staff meetings, director meetings, and annual stockholders’ meetings and participates in each accordinglyRepresenting the Bank in the community through marketing events, speaking engagements and working on various committees and promotes the bank by actively participating in local and island-based activities
RequirementsMinimum of seven to ten years of experience in the banking sectorMinimum of seven years of middle to upper-level management positionsFive years of experience managing a commercial credit portfolioMaster’s degree preferred in Business Administration, or FinanceFully Bilingual (English | Spanish)
