About the role

People Talent - Acquisition is seeking a qualified professional to serve as President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a leading financial cooperative institution specializing in financing and financial solutions for Puerto Rico’s agricultural and rural sectors. As part of the Credit System, the organization supports farmers, agribusinesses, and rural communities with financial products tailored to their needs.

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the CEO establishes the association’s strategic and business goals and oversees an effective business plan to achieve expected profitability and the organization’s strategic objectives. The CEO is ultimately accountable for achieving the goals and objectives set out in the business plan. The role directs, supervises, and monitors association activities in accordance with Board policies and standards, applicable federal laws and regulations, and agreements governing the cooperative’s operations.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and recommend the association’s short- and long-term goals, strategies, and policies.
• Monitor association performance and prepare reports and executive summaries.
• Maintain a strong business relationship with the Board through effective communication, reporting, and advisory support.
• Advise the Board on matters affecting the association’s performance and operations.
• Provide timely, accurate, and meaningful information and recommendations to support the Board’s oversight responsibilities.
• Coordinate Board training programs to improve the Board’s effectiveness.
• Direct, supervise, and monitor association activities in line with Board policies and standards, applicable federal laws and regulations, and agreements governing cooperative operations.
