About the role
ScotiaTech’s System Reliability Engineering team focuses on enhancing system reliability, reliability engineering, and resilience across Global Corporate Functions. Its mandate includes Google Cloud Platform engineering and onboarding applications to cloud infrastructure.
The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer Associate contributes to the reliability, scalability, and performance of applications and infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform. The role applies Site Reliability Engineering principles throughout the development and operational lifecycle of services, helping ensure they meet availability and performance targets by identifying and addressing potential issues.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to managing Google Cloud Platform infrastructure using infrastructure as code practices with tools like Terraform.
- Assist in developing Python automation scripts to streamline operational tasks and improve system efficiency.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for reliable software releases.
- Help monitor Service Level Objectives and error budgets for managed services using fundamental Site Reliability Engineering principles.
- Support containerized applications running on Kubernetes, including basic troubleshooting and operational tasks.
- Assist in configuring and troubleshooting cloud networking components.
- Support onboarding new applications to the cloud and contribute to improvements in infrastructure as code and operational processes.
- Assist in building automation and implementing observability solutions to monitor system health.
