Collections Specialist

About the RoleWe are looking for a Collections Specialist to join our team in Tegucigalpa. This position is responsible for supporting the recovery of delinquent automotive accounts through effective skip tracing, account investigation, customer communication, and payment negotiation.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with strong investigative and skip tracing skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience working with automotive debt or other collection accounts. This person should be comfortable locating customers with limited or outdated information and handling difficult conversations professionally.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct research and skip tracing to locate customers and verify updated contact information.Investigate accounts with outdated, inaccurate, incomplete, or missing information.Use approved databases, public records, skip tracing tools, and other available resources to identify and verify customer information.Contact customers regarding outstanding automotive debt and work toward resolving delinquent accounts.Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and other resolutions within established guidelines.Follow up consistently on accounts and payment commitments.Review account information and identify opportunities to improve collection and recovery efforts.Handle difficult or sensitive customer conversations professionally and effectively.Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection, skip tracing, customer contact, and account investigation activities.Provide timely updates to internal teams regarding account status, customer communication, and recovery efforts.Meet established collection, recovery, productivity, and performance goals.Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling customer and account information.Follow all company policies, client requirements, procedures, and applicable collection regulations.
Qualifications
Previous experience in skip tracing is required.English level: C1–C2.Experience in automotive debt collection, auto finance collections, or related collections is strongly preferred.Experience locating individuals using limited, outdated, or incomplete information.Strong research, investigative, and problem-solving skills.Experience using skip tracing tools, databases, public records, and collection systems.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally and effectively.Strong written and verbal English communication skills.Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and follow-up skills.Comfortable working toward collection, recovery, productivity, and performance goals.Experience working with U.S.-based accounts is preferred.Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity, accuracy, and professionalism.Availability to work on-site in Tegucigalpa.
