Commissioning Lead – Combined Cycle Power Plant📍 Location: Manzanillo, Dominican Republic📅 Start: Immediate⏳ Contract: Until end of November 2026🏭 Project: 414 MW Combined-Cycle Power PlantSpencer Ogden is currently supporting a major power generation project in the Dominican Republic and is looking for an experienced Commissioning Lead to join the project team on an immediate-start basis.This is a senior commissioning position requiring strong experience within combined-cycle power generation, with responsibility for leading electrical commissioning activities through energisation, testing, startup and handover.The RoleAs Commissioning Lead, you will take responsibility for coordinating and leading commissioning activities across the power island and associated Balance of Plant systems.Key responsibilities include:Leading commissioning activities from system turnover through energisation, startup and handover to operations.Managing electrical commissioning across HV/MV/LV systems and substations.Coordinating testing and commissioning of 345 kV substation systems, transformers, GCBs, IPB, MV/LV distribution, UPS, protection and control systems.Developing commissioning procedures, test protocols, energisation plans and startup sequences.Coordinating commissioning activities between construction, engineering, operations, OEMs, subcontractors and the client.Leading system walkdowns, readiness reviews and punch-list closeout.Managing system turnover documentation and ensuring commissioning readiness.Supporting safe energisation, plant startup and operational handover.Ensuring all commissioning activities are completed in accordance with project HSE, quality and technical requirements.Siemens Energy ExperienceExperience with Siemens Energy generation equipment would be highly advantageous, particularly:SGT6-8000H gas turbinesSGen6-1000A generatorsSST6-3000 steam turbinesSGen6-100A generatorsHRSG and associated BOP systemsAbout YouWe are looking for a senior commissioning professional with:Extensive experience leading commissioning activities on CCGT / thermal power projects.Strong electrical commissioning background.Experience working on HV/MV/LV electrical systems and substations.Proven experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.Experience coordinating OEMs, EPC contractors, clients and subcontractors.Strong understanding of energisation, testing, startup and system turnover.Excellent HSE and safety leadership.Previous international project experience.Combined-cycle power generation experience is essential.Siemens turbine experience is highly desirable.Ability to mobilise to the Dominican Republic immediately.Why This Project?This is an excellent opportunity to join a major 414 MW combined-cycle power generation project and take a senior leadership position during the critical commissioning and startup phase.If you are an experienced Commissioning Lead / Commissioning Manager / Electrical Commissioning Lead with CCGT experience and are available for an immediate mobilisation, we would be keen to hear from you.
