Key Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive safety plans aligned with SACPCMP standards and local regulations. Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions. Lead safety training sessions and toolbox talks to educate workers on best practices and compliance. Monitor incident reports and investigate accidents to recommend preventive measures, aiming to reduce workplace incidents by at least 15% annually. Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure safety protocols are integrated into project planning and execution. Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports for internal use and regulatory compliance. Stay updated on industry safety trends and legal requirements to continuously improve site safety standards. Promote a proactive safety culture that empowers all employees to participate in hazard identification and risk mitigation. What We're Looking For Required: Registration with SACPCMP as a Safety Officer. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction safety management, preferably in South African construction environments. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively engage with diverse teams. Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Preferred: Additional certifications in safety management or related fields. Experience with electronic safety management systems.
