Job SummaryDrafts and manages the legal aspects of purchase agreements and amendments, vendor disputes and or cancellations, and evaluate contract templates to tailor and recommend accordingly, ensuring these are granted in compliance with regulatory requirements including state and federal enactments, and support organizational objectives.
Job DescriptionSupports the Procurement Area by developing, drafting, negotiating, and updating contract templates to ensure alignment with internal requirements and applicable state and federal regulations.Ensures clarity, accuracy, and consistency of contract terms through version control, proofreading, and simplification of terminology to enhance stakeholder understanding and informed decision‑making.Provides specialized support in contract development and compliance to strengthen the design and implementation of effective solutions for the Procurement and Supply Chain Department.Provides expertise in contract development, legal compliance to support the development and implementation of effective solutions for the Procurement and Supply Chain Department.Provides advise on Contract or agreement cancellations by reviewing terms, documenting requirements, and coordinating the process while monitoring compliance and effectiveness to ensure alignment with policies and continuous improvement.Delivers training and guidance to stakeholders to enhance understanding and adoption of best practices.Follows established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.Participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills to contribute to the safe and reliable recovery of services.Performs additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.
Education and Experience:Juris Doctor and being admitted to the practice of Law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.5 years' experience in contract drafting, negotiations, legal compliance, and working with data collection, analysis and interpretation.Experience working with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.Experience leading or collaborating with small projects.Experience as matter-expert and asset resource to provide support to End Users and to assist or conduct successful negotiations with vendors, contractors and suppliers.
Competencies (Skills):Proofread, edits, and fact-checks contract documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity prior to submission.Analyzes issues, evaluates feasible alternatives, and presents well‑reasoned recommendations for decision-making.Fluent in Spanish and English (being able to read, speak, and write), including excellent communication skills.Proven strategic and critical thinking skills as well as an ability to execute.Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify needs and develop mutually agreeable solutions
Licenses/ Certifications:Bar AdmissionValid Driver’s LicenseWorld Commerce & Contracting CCM Certification, or certified under the /A, National Contract Management Association is preferred
