Cost Estimator

About the role

BetterPros is seeking an experienced material takeoff and cost estimator for custom luxury home and structural construction projects. The role leads the estimating function and helps build its workflows and standards from the ground up. Projects are in Florida, and availability to work on Eastern Time (ET) is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed material takeoffs and quantity calculations for custom luxury home and structural construction projects.
• Prepare cost estimates for reinforced concrete, steel, carpentry, and related construction scopes.
• Review architectural, structural, and construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, and project stakeholders to gather technical information and support estimate accuracy.
• Conduct outreach to contractors and architects to support project development and business opportunities.
• Prepare organized, bid-ready documentation for proposals, budgets, and estimating.
• Help create estimating workflows, standards, and ways of working alongside the team.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in material takeoffs and cost estimating, with a proven track record in custom luxury homes.
• Expertise in reinforced concrete, steel, and carpentry.
• Ability to analyze complex drawings and produce accurate takeoffs and estimates.
• Availability to work on Eastern Time (ET).
