Deputy Safety Manager

Tasks

• Develop and implement the safety management system in accordance with Panama's legal requirements and the company's standards.
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety regulations, both local and applicable to the project.
• Lead and execute safety programs and projects in construction projects.
• Coordinate and supervise safety personnel, including direct staff and contractors.
• Promote a safety culture and ensure proper training, awareness and participation of all employees.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop preventive and corrective actions.
• Manage and monitor the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Keep accurate records and reports of safety indicators and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in occupational safety (implementation of programs and projects).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in safety program implementation in civil works projects.
• Previous experience working on Panama Line 1-2 (Metro) or International Tunnel projects is mandatory.
• Conversational or advanced English (oral and written).
• Knowledge of current safety regulations and standards (OSHA, NFPA, ANSI or equivalent).
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems.
