Job Description – Desktop Support SpecialistRole OverviewWe are seeking a technically skilled Desktop Support Specialist to address service work orders, support end-user devices, and assist with network and data center infrastructure. The role involves working on projects of moderate complexity, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing onsite technical support.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for PCs, laptops, cabling, televisions, projectors, phones, peripherals, and site security equipmentPerform troubleshooting and resolution of service work ordersAssist with data center and application architecture supportTroubleshoot basic network issues and support switches, routers, and firewalls under the guidance of the Nutanix Remote Resolver TeamSupport backup, tape, and exchange infrastructuresAssist with integration and customization of hardware components on operating systems and networksDocument and report technical issues clearly; run workshops for information collationWork on projects of moderately medium-complex scope and collaborate with intercompany teamsExercise independent judgment within defined practices and procedures
Qualifications2–5 years of experience in IT support or related fieldWorking technical knowledge of:PCs, laptops, peripherals, and site security equipmentCabling, televisions, projectors, and phonesBackup, tape, and exchange infrastructuresStrong verbal and written communication skills (including reporting)Ability to assist with router and switch configuration under remote guidanceFamiliarity with network administration (switches, routers, firewalls)Ability to work independently and collaborate with remote resolver teams
Nice-to-HaveExperience with Nutanix environmentsKnowledge of data center operations and application architectureCertifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certification
