About the role
PolyWorks México is creating a new leadership role to help scale its teams, strengthen its leadership culture, and deliver software that creates meaningful business impact. The Director of Software Development will guide Software Development Team Leaders and help the organization evolve while preserving its people-oriented culture.
Responsibilities
- Leadership and team development: Coach and support Software Development Team Leaders through regular one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations, leadership coaching, and continuous feedback.
- Strengthen leadership consistency while empowering teams to adapt to their products, people, and priorities.
- Support talent development through succession planning, leadership development initiatives, and the evolution of career growth frameworks across development teams.
- Foster a culture of trust, ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
- Delivery and operational excellence: Support Agile-based, high-frequency software delivery across development teams.
- Improve delivery predictability through organizational coaching, continuous improvement, and data-driven practices.
- Help Team Leaders identify and remove impediments while strengthening collaboration, planning, and knowledge sharing.
- Business impact and organizational strategy: Translate strategic business objectives into clear organizational initiatives.
- Monitor organizational health, leadership effectiveness, delivery performance, and team engagement.
- Act as a strategic partner to senior engineering leadership to improve scalability, leadership effectiveness, and business outcomes.
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related engineering discipline.
- Have at least 5 years of experience leading software development organizations, including experience leading leaders.
- Show strong understanding of Agile principles.
