Talento is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dispatcher – Drayage Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage daily drayage dispatch operations to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.Dispatch container movements from ports, rail yards, and customer facilities while optimizing driver and equipment utilization.Monitor and track shipments, containers, vehicles, and delivery schedules to maintain operational efficiency.Respond promptly to customer and internal inquiries regarding order status, delivery issues, exceptions, and service updates.Process orders, update shipment information, and complete documentation within PortPro or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS).Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, steamship lines, terminals, and internal teams to resolve operational issues.Maintain accurate dispatch logs, schedules, shipment records, and operational documentation.Identify and troubleshoot logistical challenges, escalating issues when necessary and helping implement solutions.Ensure compliance with customer requirements, port regulations, and company procedures.Deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high levels of accuracy and responsiveness.Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance workflow efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications
Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent experience in Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.2–3 years of experience in Drayage dispatching, coordination, or operations.Required experience in drayage transportation and container dispatching.Experience dispatching freight and containers from Savannah and/or Charleston ports.Hands-on experience with PortPro or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS).Strong understanding of port operations, container movements, and import/export logistics.Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proven problem-solving and time-management abilities.Proficiency with transportation technology, Microsoft Office, and logistics software platforms.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing responsibilities independently when needed.
