About the role

Instituto Cultural Domínico Americano is seeking a part-time English Second Language Teacher in Santo Domingo. The teacher plans and delivers engaging English lessons for learners at varying proficiency levels, using appropriate methodologies and resources.

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and assess learner progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment and integrate intercultural content.
• Collaborate with colleagues and academic staff to support program objectives.
• Participate in training sessions, staff meetings, and occasional institutional events that promote language learning and cultural exchange.

Requirements

• Strong English teaching and teaching English as a foreign language skills.
• Lesson planning and classroom teaching skills.
• Knowledge and experience related to IELTS preparation and assessment.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 or equivalent) and clear, effective communication skills.
• Relevant teaching certification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) and/or a degree.
