About the role
Karpowership is looking for an Environmental Specialist / Engineer for its operations in Costa Rica. The role is critical in ensuring compliance with environmental standards at the operational site.
Requirements
- BSc degree in Environmental Engineering.
- A Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, such as environmental sciences, sustainability, circular economy, or climate change, is preferable.
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and practices, particularly in the energy sector.
- Familiarity with environmental licensing processes and related permitting procedures.
- Knowledge of International Finance Corporation (IFC) Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Performance Requirements, as well as environmental and social appraisal requirements of various International Financial Institutions and Environmental Protection Agencies.
- Strong understanding of Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP).
