🔧 IT Support Engineer — Montevideo, Uruguay (Part-Time / Ad-Hoc)
Location: Velcro, Montevideo, Uruguay Commitment: 1 day per week (fixed) + ad-hoc / reactive support as needed Type: Contract / Supplier Engagement
Language requirements: Portuguese and English
About the RoleWe are looking for a reliable and hands-on IT Support Engineer to provide on-site and remote support at our Montevideo location. This is a flexible engagement combining a scheduled weekly day on-site with ad-hoc reactive support for incidents that require a fast local response.
If you're a proactive troubleshooter who's comfortable working independently, enjoys variety in your day-to-day, and can jump in when something unexpected comes up — we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing🖥️ End-user support — troubleshooting software and hardware issues for on-site staff🌐 Network diagnostics — performing on-site connectivity checks and diagnosing network issues📦 Equipment installation — setting up and installing IT equipment as required🚨 Reactive incident response — being available on-site to resolve unplanned IT issues🙌 Smart hands support — providing physical, on-site assistance for remote teams, plus remote support as needed
What We're Looking ForProven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or field engineering rolesSolid understanding of end-user hardware, software, and basic networking (LAN/Wi-Fi troubleshooting, connectivity checks)Comfortable working independently and prioritizing tasks with minimal supervisionBased in or near Montevideo, with the flexibility to be on-site for scheduled days and available for ad-hoc calloutsStrong communication skills — able to liaise clearly with remote teams and stakeholdersA proactive, "smart hands" mindset — willing to support both routine and unexpected IT needs
