About the Role
We often, but not exclusively, build on Vercel and Supabase, and we're hiring a Full Stack Software Developer who already lives in that stack. Next.js on the front end, Postgres and Row Level Security on the back end, deployed continuously through preview environments to production.
If you've shipped real products on this platform, not just followed a tutorial, this role is built for you.
You'll own features end to end, from UI to schema to deploy. There's no handoff between a front-end team and a back-end team here, and no separate DevOps group standing between you and production. The engineer who writes the feature is the engineer who models the data, sets the RLS policies, and ships it.
This is a hands-on building role. You'll ship regularly, work directly with product stakeholders, and use AI coding agents as a core part of your daily workflow.
What You'll DoBuild and ship full-stack features on Vercel and Supabase, and other platforms as needed, from initial spec through production deploymentDesign Postgres schemas, write queries and migrations, and set Row Level Security policies that hold up under real trafficBuild responsive, accessible Next.js interfaces and the server-side logic and APIs behind themOwn auth flows, storage, and realtime behavior end to endManage deployments, preview environments, and environment configuration on Vercel - and debug what breaks in serverless and edge runtimesUse AI coding agents to plan, scaffold, refactor, and test - and review that output critically before it shipsPull work from a shared Kanban board, keep cards moving, and flag blockers earlyParticipate in code review, write tests, and keep technical debt visible and managedCollaborate in written English across time zones - clear tickets, PR descriptions, and async updates
Required Qualifications
EnglishFluent spoken and written English (B2 or higher). You will be in live calls with US-based colleagues and stakeholders daily, and most of your work will be documented in writing. This is a hard requirement.
Platform ExperienceHands-on production experience with Vercel: deploying real applications, managing preview environments and environment variables, working with serverless and edge functions, and debugging cold starts, timeouts, and build failuresHands-on production experience with Supabase: Postgres schema design and migrations, Row Level Security policies, Auth, Storage, Realtime, and Edge FunctionsYou can explain the tradeoffs of this stack — where serverless costs you, when RLS is the right boundary and when it isn't, how you'd handle connection pooling or a long-running jobEquivalent depth on comparable platforms (Netlify, Render, Fly.io, Firebase, Neon, PlanetScale, Convex) is welcome if you can speak to how they compare and can ramp quickly on ours
Full Stack Engineering3+ years building and shipping production web applicationsStrong front-end skills: React, Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, modern CSSStrong back-end skills: API design, relational data modeling, authentication and authorization, server-side logicComfortable owning a feature across both layers without a handoff
AI Agentic CodingDemonstrated experience building software with agentic AI coding tools - Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot Agent, or similarAble to decompose a task into work an agent can execute, write effective prompts and context, and iterate on agent outputSound judgment about when to use an agent and when not to, plus the discipline to review generated code as rigorously as your own
Work StyleExperience working in a Kanban or continuous-flow environment: pulling work, limiting work in progress, keeping cards current, and delivering continuously rather than in fixed sprintsProven ability to work autonomously on a distributed, remote team
AvailabilityAble to work consistent hours overlapping US Eastern Time, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ETReliable high-speed internet and a quiet space for video calls
Nice to HaveExperience with LLM APIs, RAG pipelines, vector databases, or agent frameworks in a product contextTesting experience with Playwright, Vitest, or similarCI/CD pipeline setup and maintenanceObservability and performance tuning (Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Vercel Analytics)Prior experience on a US-facing distributed team
How We WorkWe run a Kanban board with explicit WIP limits. There are no two-week sprint commitments - you pull the next highest-priority card when you finish one, and you're expected to keep the board honest about where things stand.
Communication is async-first and written-first, with a daily standup and a weekly planning session. We optimize for shipping small changes continuously rather than big-bang releases.
