Full Stack Software Developer

PURPOSE OF JOB:
As a Full Stack Software Developer at PriceSmart, you design, build, and maintain both front-end and back-end components of enterprise-level retail applications. You collaborate across the technology organization to deliver seamless, omnichannel shopping experiences, applying strong programming skills, modern development practices, and Agile ways of working across the entire application stack.
Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain both front-end interfaces and back-end services for enterprise-level retail applications, ensuring a consistent, high-quality shopping experience across channels.Build and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with microservices and cloud-based infrastructure to support application scalability, performance, and security.Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following software development best practices, Agile methodologies, and coding standards.Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product owners, QA, and other developers to translate requirements into functional, user-centric solutions.Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the full application stack, participating actively in code reviews and continuous improvement efforts.Support the integration of omnichannel solutions, contributing to a cohesive user experience across digital and physical touchpoints.Functional Areas of Expertise:Front-End Development: Proficiency with modern frameworks and languages such as React, Angular, or Vue, along with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScriptBack-End Development: Experience with server-side languages and frameworks such as Java, Python, or Node.js, and building RESTful APIsDatabases and Cloud: Working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, plus familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architectureAgile Methodologies: Solid working knowledge of Agile/Scrum practices and collaborative software deliveryPerformance and Quality: Techniques for optimizing both front-end and back-end performance, along with writing unit and integration tests

Qualifications and Basic Requirements:3-5 years of experience in full stack software development, ideally with exposure to retail or e-commerce solutions.Solid working knowledge of front-end and back-end programming languages, frameworks, databases, and cloud platforms.Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, including participation in sprint ceremonies and collaborative planning.Strong analytical skills, good problem-solving ability, and attention to detail across the full application stack.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
