General Accountant

Position SummaryThe General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies, and supporting the organization's financial operations. This position plays a critical role in recording financial transactions, preparing reconciliations, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Accountant works closely with internal departments to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRecord, classify, and maintain financial transactions in the accounting system.Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting analyses as requested.Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.Monitor financial transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and files.Assist with tax filings and regulatory reporting requirements as applicable.Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal controls.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and support business operations.
QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems preferred.
