Project Overview:This job posting is specific to our project in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where we are responsible for renovating and operating the shipyard located on Quay 15 & 16. Our facilities here include a 200-foot floating dock and a 680-foot dry dock. We specialize in the repair and maintenance of superyachts, mega yachts, and workboats, with a particular emphasis on careening, painting operations, metalwork, and the maintenance of propulsion units and auxiliaries.
Job Summary:The General Foreman at IMM is responsible for overseeing the different department as General Mechanic, Electrical, Paint, Metal Work to ensure the efficient and high-quality execution of all ship refit and repair projects. The role requires strong leadership, coordination skills, and technical expertise to manage diverse teams working on complex naval, commercial, and luxury vessels.
Key Responsibilities:Supervise and coordinate the different departments to ensure all work meets industry standards and project deadlines.Oversee daily operations, assigning tasks and monitoring progress for refit and repair projects.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all work areas.Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless execution of repairs and modifications.Review work schedules, resource allocations, and material needs for different departments.Conduct inspections and quality control assessments to ensure high workmanship standards.Train, mentor, and develop team members to enhance skills and productivity.Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
Requirements:Minimum 5 years of experience in ship repair.Strong leadership skills with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.In-depth understanding of mechanical, electrical, paint, and metal work operations within the marine sector.Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.Strong communication and teamwork skills.
