JOB SUMMARY
Our General Manager role is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and organizational performance of multiple manufacturing facilities, including cross‑border operations. This role provides strategic leadership to ensure production goals, quality standards, cost objectives, and customer commitments are consistently met. The General Manager partners closely with functional leaders across operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and workforce development. Additionally, this role ensures alignment of processes and standards across locations, maintains compliance with regulatory requirements, and fosters a high‑performance, accountability‑driven culture that supports both current operations and long‑term business growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational LeadershipProvide strategic leadership across both facilities by developing and executing operational plans that achieve production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.Partner with functional leaders to optimize manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Establish and uphold the best manufacturing practices to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and industry standards.
People & Performance LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a diverse leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Set clear performance expectations aligned with organizational goals and ensure consistent execution across teams.Champion workforce development through targeted training, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
Quality & Customer ExcellenceEnsure robust quality management systems are in place to consistently meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with quality and operations teams to proactively identify, resolve, and prevent product or process issues.
Supply Chain & Production PlanningPartner with supply chain leadership to optimize inventory levels, procurement strategies, and material flow to support production demands.Lead MRP discipline and data integrity efforts, including purchasing policies, customer demand management, and production scheduling, to improve inventory turns and reduce WIP.Drive supply chain strategies that enhance responsiveness, efficiency, and overall operational performance.
Cross‑Border & Government RelationsOversee effective collaboration and alignment between U.S. and Costa Rica operations, ensuring consistency in processes, standards, and objectives.Maintain engagement with relevant government agencies and ensure adherence to local regulations and evolving macro‑political requirements.
Financial & Business ManagementDevelop and manage operating budgets for both facilities, monitoring performance against financial targets.Identify and implement cost‑reduction and margin‑improvement initiatives while maintaining product quality and customer satisfaction.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY & SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.7-10 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within manufacturing.In-depth knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.Strong understanding of cross-border operations and cultural considerations, particularly in the US-Costa Rica manufacturing context.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and operational excellenceProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
