Global Payroll Manager

About the role

Empresa Confidencial is hiring a Global Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead payroll, benefits, and retirement program administration across an international workforce, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and an exceptional employee experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries, with hands-on experience in the United States and Costa Rica required.
• Manage employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness initiatives, and leave programs.
• Oversee retirement and pension plans, including 401(k) administration, compliance, audits, and employee education.
• Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, social security requirements, and global employment legislation.
• Partner with HR, Finance, payroll providers, brokers, and third-party vendors to maintain efficient and compliant processes.
• Drive payroll and benefits reporting, audits, KPI generation, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
• Manage vendor relationships, benefits budgets, and supplier payments across multiple countries.
• Support employees with guidance on payroll, benefits, retirement plans, and related policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Proven experience managing payroll and benefits in a multi-country environment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. 401(k) plans, ERISA compliance, and retirement programs.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms, including Workday and/or ADP.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
