Grounds Keeper Maintenance Job in Nashville, TN

Description General Description: The Grounds Keeper Maintenance performs semi-skilled work maintaining, caring for, and modifying campus grounds and landscapes at TN School Blind in Nashville, Tennessee. This role involves operating electrically and gasoline-powered groundskeeping equipment, using hand and power tools for planting, cultivating, and trimming landscaping. Additional duties include maintenance of groundskeeping equipment and tools, changing light bulbs, pressure washing surfaces, painting walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment, as well as minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. The Grounds Keeper also delivers supplies, materials, and equipment as needed. Supervision: Works under the maintenance supervisor with frequent inspection and review of work. Duties and Responsibilities: Mow lawns and trim grass around walkways, flower beds, and walls Prune shrubs and trees to promote healthy growth and shape Remove damaged leaves, branches, and twigs using mowers, tractors, and hand/power tools Collect and dispose of outdoor trash and debris Maintain hard surfaces, storm drains, and other grounds features Lay out and tend flower beds and decorative vegetation Plant, fertilize, water, and apply herbicides and insecticides to maintain healthy grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs Remove snow and ice from sidewalks and driveways; spread salt as needed Rake and remove leaves; pick up litter across campus Maintain driveways and parking lots Repair fences, gates, walls, irrigation systems, walks, and outbuildings using carpentry, masonry, pressure washing, and painting tools Operate trucks and groundskeeping vehicles safely Compensation: $17 per hour Employment Type: Full-time, on-site position in Nashville, TN.
