About the role
Aventus Group is launching lending operations in the United States and is looking for an experienced Head of Collections to build and lead the U.S. collections function from Mexico City. The role involves building the operation from the ground up, defining its strategy, processes, technology, team structure, and performance standards in a highly regulated environment.

Responsibilities
- Build and lead the U.S. Collections team, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Own collections strategy across all delinquency stages, from early collections to recovery.
- Monitor key collections KPIs and drive performance through data and analytics.
- Develop and optimize omnichannel collection campaigns using dialer, SMS, email, and IVR.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. collections regulations and communication requirements.
- Implement automation, testing, AI, and data-driven initiatives to improve recovery.
- Manage external collection agencies and service providers.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, IT, and Operations to build scalable collections processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a senior collections leadership role.
- Mandatory experience managing U.S. consumer collections from Mexico or another nearshore location.
- Experience in fintech, consumer lending, personal loans, credit cards, auto finance, or similar industries.
- Proven track record of improving recovery rates, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Strong knowledge of collections KPIs, dialers, CRMs, reporting tools, and Excel.
- Experience with segmentation and campaign management.
