Join us as a Heavy-duty Equipment Mechanic and play a vital role in maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of construction and industrial equipment. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and inspect heavy-duty equipment to identify faults and malfunctions efficiently, ensuring minimal downtime. Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic tools and manual testing equipment across systems including internal combustion engines, DC electrical, propane, hydraulics, and fuel systems. Perform major repairs independently, replacing or repairing defective parts to maintain fleet reliability and safety standards. Test repaired equipment to verify performance meets or exceeds manufacturer specifications, ensuring operational safety and efficiency. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, and battery replacements to extend equipment lifespan. Service attachments and working tools by reconditioning and repairing to maintain full operational readiness. Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities to support fleet management and compliance. Collaborate with team members to support fleet availability and respond promptly to urgent repair needs. What We're Looking For Required: Minimum 3 years of experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic or similar role, preferably within construction or industrial equipment sectors. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and fuel systems. Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and standard hand/measuring tools. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations within the Greater Toronto Area. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred: Certification or technical training in heavy equipment mechanics or related fields.
