POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Sales Manager is responsible for driving room revenue, occupancy, group business, partnerships, and overall commercial performance for Socialtel Colombia.The role will develop and execute sales strategies targeting leisure, corporate, groups, MICE, travel agencies, tour operators, DMCs, wholesalers, and local partnerships, while positioning Socialtel as a leading social hospitality and lifestyle accommodation brand.The successful candidate must have proven hospitality sales experience and a strong understanding of the Colombian tourism and hospitality market.1. Sales Strategy & Business DevelopmentDevelop and execute the property's annual and monthly sales strategy.Identify new revenue opportunities and target markets.Develop strategies to increase occupancy, ADR, room revenue, and ancillary revenue.Build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer demand.Develop business plans for key market segments.Work closely with the General Manager and Commercial team to achieve revenue targets.2. Corporate & Local SalesDevelop and maintain relationships with corporate accounts and local businesses.Conduct regular sales calls, client visits, presentations, and property inspections.Identify companies with potential accommodation and event requirements.Negotiate commercial agreements within approved parameters.Develop repeat and long-term business relationships.Maintain accurate account profiles and sales activity records.3. Leisure, Travel Trade & TourismDevelop relationships with:Travel agenciesTour operatorsDMCsWholesalersOnline travel partnersTourism organizationsLocal experience providersIdentify international and domestic source-market opportunities.Develop partnerships that generate room nights and ancillary revenue.Participate in relevant tourism fairs, networking events, and industry activities.Build Socialtel's presence within the local tourism and hospitality community.4. Groups, MICE & EventsDevelop group and MICE business opportunities where applicable.Build relationships with event planners, DMCs, corporate organizers, and group travel partners.Manage group inquiries from initial contact through contract and handover to Operations.Negotiate rates and commercial conditions within approved guidelines.Ensure group business is commercially viable and operationally achievable.Develop opportunities for private events, social gatherings, and group experiences.5. Socialtel Experience & Lifestyle SalesPosition Socialtel as more than accommodation by selling the social, lifestyle, community, F&B, events, and experience components of the property.Develop partnerships with local experiences, restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, tourism, and lifestyle businesses.Identify opportunities to generate revenue from events, activities, F&B, and experiences.Work closely with the Experience and Operations teams to develop commercially attractive packages.Ensure sales activity reflects Socialtel's identity and target customer profile.6. Account ManagementMaintain strong relationships with existing high-value accounts.Conduct regular account reviews and identify opportunities for increased production.Monitor account performance against agreed targets.Develop account-specific action plans.Ensure timely follow-up on inquiries, proposals, contracts, and business opportunities.Maintain a high standard of customer service throughout the sales process.7. Revenue & Commercial CollaborationWork closely with Revenue Management to maximize room revenue.Monitor occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, pickup, booking pace, and market demand.Ensure sales strategies complement pricing and revenue-management strategies.Provide market intelligence to the Revenue and Commercial teams.Identify opportunities for shoulder dates, low-demand periods, and need periods.Balance volume and rate to maximize profitable business.8. Sales Activity & ReportingMaintain an accurate sales pipeline and activity tracker.Monitor sales calls, appointments, proposals, conversions, and revenue production.Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.Track performance against individual and departmental targets.Provide management with updates on market trends, business opportunities, and risks.Maintain accurate CRM and customer information.9. Marketing & Brand CollaborationWork closely with Marketing to support campaigns and commercial initiatives.Provide market feedback to improve promotional activities.Support social media, digital, PR, and partnership campaigns where appropriate.Participate in sales events, activations, trade shows, and promotional activities.Ensure all sales communications accurately represent the Socialtel brand and property.10. Teamwork & Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with General Management, Revenue, Marketing, Reservations, Front Office, Experience, F&B, and Finance.Ensure smooth handover of confirmed business to Operations.Communicate group requirements and client expectations clearly.Participate in commercial meetings and business reviews.Support property-wide initiatives that contribute to revenue and guest satisfaction.11. Guest & Client ExperienceMaintain a high level of professionalism throughout the sales process.Conduct property inspections and client visits.Ensure clients understand the Socialtel product and experience.Handle commercial-related complaints and escalations professionally.Develop strong relationships that encourage repeat business and referrals.ADDITIONAL CLAUSEOther duties may be assigned by your direct report and should be fulfilled with professionalism and dedication in alignment with company standards.QUALIFICATION STANDARDSMinimum 3–5 years of sales experience within hospitality.Previous experience in hotels, hostels, resorts, serviced apartments, or lifestyle hospitality is required.Proven experience in hotel sales, business development, or commercial roles.Strong knowledge of the Colombian hospitality and tourism market.Experience with corporate, leisure, travel trade, groups, or MICE sales.Existing relationships with local tourism and hospitality partners are an advantage.Strong negotiation and business-development skills.Target-driven and commercially minded.Strong communication and presentation skills.Good command of English and Spanish.Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.KEY COMPETENCIESHospitality SalesBusiness DevelopmentAccount ManagementCorporate SalesLeisure & Travel TradeGroup & MICE SalesNegotiationRevenue AwarenessMarket DevelopmentRelationship ManagementSales Pipeline ManagementPresentation SkillsCommercial AcumenNetworkingResults OrientationIDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILEThe ideal candidate is a hospitality sales professional who understands how to sell experiences, not simply rooms.They should have an established network within the Colombian hospitality and tourism industry and be capable of generating new business through direct sales, partnerships, travel trade, corporate accounts, groups, and local lifestyle connections.Experience selling for a hotel, hostel, lifestyle hotel, resort, or international hospitality brand is strongly preferred.The candidate should be energetic, highly proactive, commercially driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, social hospitality environment.
