Role OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented and business-minded HR Business Partner to lead the employee lifecycle end to end while partnering closely with managers and senior leadership. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor on day-to-day people matters, provide coaching and guidance on HR policies, compliance requirements, and internal processes, and translate business needs into practical HR solutions. You will also support the execution of the people strategy and contribute to consistent, engaging, and high-quality employee experience across a multicultural and growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with leaders across functional areas to translate business priorities into practical people strategies, including workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and talent initiatives.Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and the consistent application of HR policies, business policies and internal processes.Support the evolution of performance management practices toward continuous, feedback-driven models aligned with business outcomes, talent development, and succession planning.Drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, leadership capability, team effectiveness, and a positive workplace culture across a multicultural organization.Collaborate on talent and succession strategies by helping identify critical roles, build internal and external talent pipelines, and support leadership development and talent deployment.Execute core HR operations for assigned stakeholders, including onboarding, workforce reporting, internal communications, escalation management, and support for compensation practices.Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, strengthen the employee and manager experience, and contribute to cross-functional HR projects and change management initiatives.Serve as the HR subject-matter expert on Panamanian employment law and employment practices, keeping knowledge current and translating requirements into practical guidance.Work flexibly across international time zones and travel occasionally to other Ocean Re locations when required.Undertake other reasonable HR duties and projects assigned from time to time, consistent with the level of the role, the candidate's capabilities and business needs.Oversee joiners, movers and leavers and ensure that employment documentation, HR systems, payroll and benefit records remain complete and accurate
Skills & Qualifications
6+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years in an HR Business Partner role, with demonstrated expertise in employee relations, organizational development, talent management, and business partnering.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, compliance requirements, and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in a business context.Proven ability to operate with autonomy, sound judgment, discretion, and accountability in multicultural, and evolving organization.Strong consulting, coaching, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skillsAgile and collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across departments, geographies, and organizational priorities.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.Experience using HRIS platforms and HR metrics to support decision-making.
