Import-Export Manager

About the role

Confidential is seeking a strategic leader to direct, coordinate, and supervise import and export operations. The role ensures compliance with customs regulations and helps mitigate fiscal and legal risks while optimizing logistics costs and transit times across cross-border and global supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the IMMEX program, VAT/IEPS certifications, and current customs regulations.
• Supervise material control and the accuracy of physical and tax inventories using WMS and ERP (SAP) systems.
• Control Mexico-USA cross-border traffic and coordinate global shipments by maritime, air, and land modalities.
• Design and implement strategies to reduce logistics costs, improve transit times, and optimize physical routes.
• Analyze supply chain deviations and propose continuous improvements in customs processes and commercial conditions.
• Lead relationships with customs brokers, carriers, and authorities.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of verifiable leadership or management experience in foreign trade or logistics, ideally in the manufacturing or maquiladora industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced English; fluent business English is mandatory.
• Expert-level knowledge of Mexican customs legislation, advanced administration of Annex 24 and Annex 30, and applicable security certifications such as C-TPAT and OEA.
• Advanced office automation skills, especially Excel for data analysis, and experience managing logistics or materials modules in ERP (SAP).
• Strong negotiation, effective communication, and data-driven decision-making skills.
