About the role
Edge Operations Managers is looking for a Collections Specialist focused on recovering outstanding payments from insurance carriers and homeowners. This is a hands-on, phone-focused collections position, not a traditional AR or administrative role. The role involves managing collections from start to finish, communicating with customers and insurance companies, and working toward a clear collections quota. The primary KPI is successful collections.
Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls and send emails to insurance carriers and clients about outstanding payments.
- Verify insurance coverage on a job before pursuing collection.
- Gather the documentation required to support and collect on a file.
- Follow up consistently until payment is issued.
- Review estimate line items and defend the estimate with adjusters using appropriate code references.
Requirements
- Proven collections experience actively recovering outstanding payments.
- Insurance claims experience and familiarity with claims terminology and carrier processes.
- Knowledge of estimates and the ability to review and defend line items with adjusters.
- Strong English communication skills and confidence speaking professionally on the phone.
- Strong written English and clear, professional email communication.
- Experience with DASH, Encircle, Xactimate, or DocuSketch is a plus.
