Grupo Queyám is seeking a full-time Academic Economics Researcher in Ambato, Tungurahua, Ecuador. Join a collaborative academic environment where economic research and analysis support the development of relevant knowledge for academic and practical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct applied and theoretical economic research that advances knowledge in the discipline.
- Develop and apply econometric models to analyze economic data.
- Write academic papers and present findings at conferences and seminars.
- Collaborate with academics and professionals on interdisciplinary research projects.
- Manage research time effectively to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Help supervise undergraduate and graduate students conducting research.
- Contribute to funding proposals for research projects.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in economic research, preferably using econometric models.
- Strong accounting and time-management skills.
- Excellent academic writing skills in Spanish.
- Knowledge of statistical and econometric software such as STATA, R, or similar tools.
- More than three years of academic research or relevant industry experience is preferred.
Work Environment
Work with commonly used economic research tools and software alongside a collaborative team of researchers and academics. The role reports to a research director.
