About the role
RRC Companies is seeking a full-time Geotechnical Laboratory Engineer. Beyond Engineering and Testing, LLC (Beyond) is an accredited and licensed Texas and New Mexico engineering firm providing geotechnical and construction material testing services. The firm has offices in Texas and New Mexico and has experienced significant growth and success in commercial, municipal, infrastructure and transportation projects. Responsibilities
- Assist the Geotechnical Laboratory Manager with geotechnical laboratory testing in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.
- Coordinate sample receiving, classification and characterization of soil properties; interpret laboratory test assignments; perform laboratory tests; calculate results; and enter data into proprietary software programs.
- Perform consolidation, swell, permeability, direct shear, unconfined compression, triaxial and CBR testing in accordance with ASTM, TxDOT, AASHTO and USCOE procedures and standards.
- Assist with lab equipment maintenance and calibrations, training log documentation, AMRL proficiencies and audits, and the efficient and economical use of laboratory equipment and resources.
- Review test reports before submission and manage assigned laboratory personnel.
- Maintain safety and quality standards on all work assignments while taking on progressively increased training and responsibility.
