About the role
Jabil seeks a Master Planner to manage all planning activities for an assigned workcell and mentor the Production Planners and Document Coordinators in the workcell.
Responsibilities
- Ensure 100% on-time delivery, establish build readiness, and maintain capacity efficiency, customer sizing, accurate revenue forecasting, and material control and liability.
- Develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and load it into Jabil’s ERP system, including Purchase Order (PO) coverage.
- Reconcile the MPS to customer PO coverage weekly to ensure Jabil is not exposed beyond customer PO coverage or other authorized customer demand.
- Ensure the MPS is 100% accurate and achievable, and achieve and maintain the 95% MPS goal.
- Own production planning, BOM, and document control, with or without additional support.
- Analyze material and capacity requirements and communicate constraints to the Workcell and customer based on accurate customer demand.
- Maintain the workcell’s capacity planning model and drive resolution of uneven capacity utilization.
- Meet daily with the Workcell and manufacturing team to assess production schedules, adjust them based on production results, optimize run quantities, and minimize changeovers to help achieve 100% on-time delivery.
- Keep the customers’ latest contract on file and understand its terms and conditions regarding customer liability for material planning and production scheduling, including the liability window for Jabil material purchase order placement, component purchase price, and liability for in-house materials.
- Be the workcell’s expert on planning activities, supporting the Production Planner goal of not starting product builds without a valid PO, adequate material quantities, an accurate BOM, and an accurate routing.
