Mid or Senior Data Engineer

At Creative Software International, we're growing our development team and looking for experienced Mid or Senior Data Engineers passionate about building enterprise data warehouses, developing scalable ETL solutions, and transforming data into reliable insights for business reporting.
Summary:We are seeking a Data Engineer to build a new enterprise Data Warehouse. The successful candidate will validate and implement the current warehouse design, and build the ETL jobs that bring data in from core banking and digital platforms, format it, and make it available for reporting use. This is a hands-on role built around SQL Server and .NET (C#), with plenty of room to design and build custom tooling where off-the-shelf solutions fall short. Over time, the role will evolve into assisting with bank conversions – converting a bank’s data into data format, applying configuration, and making it available for testing by the bank and staff. Key Responsibilities:
Data Warehouse Development:Build the new enterprise Data Warehouse, validating and implementing the current design and refining it where the data proves it necessary.Develop and maintain dimensional models, fact and dimension tables, and supporting structures optimized for reporting workloads.Implement indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning strategies to keep the warehouse fast as data volumes grow.Establish data quality, reconciliation, and validation controls to ensure warehouse data is accurate against source systems.
ETL & Data Integration:Design, build, and operate the ETL jobs that extract data from source systems, transform and format it, and load it into the warehouse.Build custom ETL tooling in .NET (C#) where existing tools do not fit the goal.Automate job scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and failure recovery so pipelines run reliably without manual intervention.Document data lineage, source-to-target mappings, and transformation rules.
Reporting & Data Availability:Make warehouse data available for reporting, shaping views and data marts around how the business actually consumes it.Work with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into well-structured, performant datasets.Optimize queries and data structures to support reporting and analytics at scale.
Collaboration & Best Practices:Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making.Apply secure data handling practices appropriate to sensitive financial data.Favor simple, effective solutions and document your work so others can build on it.Make AI tooling a core part of your daily workflow, using agentic loops – generate, verify, refine – to accelerate development of the warehouse, ETL jobs, and conversion tooling.
Bank Conversions (Role Evolution):Assist with bank conversions as the role grows: convert incoming bank data into the data format accurately and repeatably.Apply the bank’s configuration to the converted data and validate the results end to end.Make converted environments available for testing by the bank and staff, and support them through validation and go-live.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.5+ years of database and data engineering experience, with extensive SQL Server experience (T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, performance tuning).Proven experience in data warehouse design, development, and maintenance, including dimensional modeling and ETL architecture.Experience working with enterprise-level software systems, preferably in fintech or banking.Conversational English.
Technical Skills:Extensive SQL Server experience, including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning of large datasets.Strong .NET (C#) development skills, with the ability to build custom data tooling and services.Proficient in ETL design and implementation, and able to build custom tooling to achieve the goals when packaged tools fall short.Strong proficiency and comfort with AI tooling (e.g., Clause, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as an everyday part of how you design, build, and test software.Practiced in loop engineer – structuring work as iterative agent loops with clear specifications, automated verification, and human review, rather than one-shot prompting.Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts: dimensional modeling, fact/dimension design, slowly changing dimensions, and incremental loads.Experience with data quality, reconciliation, and validation techniques.Familiarity with reporting and BI tooling (e.g., SSRS, Power BI) is a plus.Experience with data migration or conversion projects is a plus.
