Job Type: Freelance / Dispatch-Based (Onsite)Employment Type: Contract (On-Demand)Experience Required: 2–5 YearsLocation: Multiple Locations (Based on Client Dispatches)About the RoleWe are seeking experienced Network Smart Hands Field Engineers to provide onsite technical support for enterprise workplace and network infrastructure environments. This is a dispatch-based freelance role, where engineers are assigned onsite service requests as needed.The ideal candidate will have experience supporting end-user devices, network infrastructure, structured cabling, and data center equipment while working closely with remote technical teams.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide onsite Smart Hands support for enterprise IT infrastructure.Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues involving:Desktop PCsLaptopsPrinters & PeripheralsPhonesTelevisions & ProjectorsStructured CablingSite Security EquipmentPerform rack and stack activities in data centers.Assist with server and application infrastructure support.Support hardware installations, replacements, and migrations.Assist with troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity issues.Work alongside the Nutanix Remote Resolver Team to:Configure routers and switches.Troubleshoot network connectivity.Support firewalls and network infrastructure.Assist with integrating and configuring hardware within operating systems and enterprise networks.Support backup, tape, and Exchange infrastructures when required.Perform physical inspections, cable tracing, equipment labeling, and documentation.Submit detailed service reports, photos, and completion notes after each dispatch.Collaborate with remote technical teams during onsite activities.Required Skills & Experience2–5 years of IT Field Services, Smart Hands, or Network Support experience.Strong knowledge of:PCs & LaptopsPrinters & PeripheralsStructured CablingProjectors & DisplaysIP PhonesSecurity EquipmentBasic understanding of:LAN/WAN NetworkingRoutersSwitchesFirewallsNetwork TroubleshootingExperience working in enterprise environments or data centers.Knowledge of backup infrastructure, tape libraries, and Microsoft Exchange is an advantage.Ability to work independently while following remote guidance.Comfortable working with intercompany and cross-functional technical teams.Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prepare accurate technical reports and documentation.Comfortable handling multiple dispatch assignments.Preferred QualificationsExperience providing Smart Hands or Remote Hands support.Data Center support experience.Experience with enterprise networking equipment.Basic knowledge of server hardware.Familiarity with hardware integration and operating system deployment.Mandatory Training RequirementBefore being assigned to customer sites, all Field Engineers must successfully complete:1-hour online Nutanix Hardware Replacement Training (provided free of charge by Hemmersbach)Complete the 20-question assessmentAchieve a minimum passing score of 90%Only engineers who successfully complete this certification will be eligible for onsite dispatches.What We're Looking ForReliable and professional Field EngineersStrong customer-facing communication skillsSelf-motivated individuals who can work independentlyAbility to travel to customer locations when dispatchedFlexible availability for onsite assignments
