An AM Law 140 firm is seeking a 4th–5th year Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level litigator looking to work on complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, including matters involving brand, business, and reputational risk, within a well-resourced and highly regarded litigation platform.

The roleThis position is suited to an associate who already has solid litigation training and is ready for broader responsibility in a premium disputes practice. The work will include:Managing written and document discoveryConducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings, and motionsHandling dispositive and non-dispositive motion practiceTaking and defending depositionsAssisting with witness preparationSupporting trial preparation, case strategy, and broader dispute managementWorking closely with partners and clients on significant commercial matters
What they are looking for4–5 years of litigation experienceStrong background in commercial litigationExcellent written, verbal, analytical, and case-management skillsConfidence working both independently and collaborativelyCalifornia Bar admission requiredStrong academic backgroundPlaintiff-side or defense-side experience both of interest, provided the litigation background is strong
Salary & hoursSalary: $285,000–$325,000Annual target: 1,950 hours1,800 hours treated as core billable targetUp to 150 hours can be credited through pro bono, firm activity, and other approved contributions
