TCS is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) to join a collaborative and fast‑paced environment where technology and business come together to create meaningful impact. This role plays a key part in ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and availability of critical Oracle database environments that support enterprise applications and business operations.
The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented and proactive professional with strong expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and infrastructure optimization, capable of managing complex database environments while collaborating effectively with cross-functional, global teams in a dynamic, multi‑initiative environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database environments.Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operations.Perform database tuning and optimization to improve system efficiency and response times.Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.Implement and maintain database security controls, user access, and compliance requirements.Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and high-availability configurations when applicable.Collaborate with application teams to support deployments and database-related requirements.Develop and maintain automation scripts for administrative and operational tasks.Monitor storage utilization, database growth, and forecast capacity requirements.Ensure adherence to database governance, standards, and best practices.Document configurations, procedures, and operational processes clearly.
Technical Requirements & ExpertiseProven experience as an Oracle DBA or similar database administration role.Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database Administration (11g, 12c, 19c, or newer versions).Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and high-availability solutions.Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, cloning, and disaster recovery strategies.Experience in database performance tuning and query optimization.Solid understanding of SQL and PL/SQL.Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.Knowledge of database security, auditing, and access control best practices.Experience supporting mission-critical production environments.Familiarity with cloud database environments (AWS, Azure, or OCI) is a plus.Experience with monitoring and automation tools is desirable.Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
