Oracle Data Base Administrator

About the role

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator (Oracle DBA) to join a collaborative and fast-paced environment where technology and business come together to create meaningful impact. The role supports the reliability, performance, security, and availability of critical Oracle database environments that support enterprise applications and business operations.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and proactive, with expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and infrastructure optimization. The role involves managing complex database environments and collaborating with cross-functional, global teams in a dynamic, multi-initiative environment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Oracle Database environments.
• Monitor database performance, availability, and capacity.
• Tune and optimize databases to improve system efficiency and response times.
• Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to support business continuity.
• Implement and maintain database security controls, user access, and compliance requirements.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Manage Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and high-availability configurations when applicable.
• Collaborate with application teams on deployments and database-related requirements.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for administrative and operational tasks.
• Monitor storage utilization and database growth, and forecast capacity requirements.
• Follow database governance, standards, and best practices.
• Document configurations, procedures, and operational processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Oracle DBA or in a similar database administration role.
• Strong expertise in Oracle database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery strategies, and infrastructure optimization.
• Ability to manage complex database environments and collaborate with cross-functional, global teams.
