UWC Costa Rica is seeking an Outreach and Innovation Coordinator to lead the strategy, operational execution, and sustainable growth of our Outreach and Hospitality portfolio.This role will strengthen UWC Costa Rica’s institutional visibility and mission awareness, particularly among prospective young applicants, while supporting financial sustainability through innovative short-term educational programs, strategic partnerships, and high-quality hospitality and accommodation operations.The ideal candidate combines business development, educational program design, partnership building, financial management, and operational leadership with a strong commitment to UWC Costa Rica’s mission and values of empathy, reciprocity, and accountability.
Key ResponsibilitiesOutreach, Educational Innovation, and Program GrowthLead the strategic development and expansion of UWC Costa Rica’s Outreach portfolio.Design innovative short-term and experiential educational programs aligned with the UWC educational model.Manage the full lifecycle of Outreach programs, from concept and business planning to delivery and evaluation.Identify opportunities for Outreach initiatives to respond meaningfully to Costa Rican and regional contexts.Develop the operational capacity required to establish the new campus as a year-round Sustainability and Innovation Center.Lead the Outreach Committee and provide annual growth projections, operational updates, and strategic recommendations.
Business Development and Financial SustainabilityDevelop and execute comprehensive business plans aligned with institutional priorities.Design and manage budgets, financial projections, pricing models, and revenue strategies.Identify market needs and opportunities for new educational products and diversified revenue streams.Establish and monitor KPIs related to finance, admissions, marketing, sales, operations, and educational outcomes.Manage program budgets, invoices, payments, contracts, and relationships with external service providers.Negotiate with vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
Sales, Marketing, and Strategic PartnershipsDefine and lead the Outreach marketing and commercial strategy.Design and optimize the sales funnel, lead-generation initiatives, and conversion strategies.Use performance data to strengthen program positioning, reach, and revenue growth.Build strategic alliances with international schools, universities, agencies, educational organizations, NGOs, and other partners.Represent UWC Costa Rica at international fairs, conferences, and networking events.Position UWC Costa Rica as a preferred host institution for international academic groups, universities, and study-abroad programs.
Admissions and Institutional OutreachDesign immersive educational activities and taster programs that expand awareness of the UWC Movement and attract prospective applicants.Develop a multi-channel outreach strategy to identify, engage, and nurture prospective students from diverse geographic and socioeconomic backgrounds.Collaborate closely with the Admissions team to align Outreach programs with enrollment goals, institutional capacity, and diversity objectives.Use admissions data and market trends to continuously refine Outreach initiatives.
Safety, Safeguarding, and Participant Well-beingWork closely with the Safeguarding Committee and Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with UWC Child Protection policies and Costa Rican regulations.Implement risk assessment, duty of care, and crisis response protocols across residential, transportation, and program activities.Ensure the safety, well-being, and appropriate support of participants throughout each program.
Hospitality and Accommodation ManagementOversee accommodation and hospitality operations for visiting groups from arrival through departure.Coordinate room assignments, reservations, check-in and check-out, meals, housekeeping, maintenance requests, transportation, and special accommodation needs.Establish and monitor service standards and operating procedures.Track occupancy, costs, participant feedback, and service quality to support continuous improvement.Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and partner organizations regarding hospitality and accommodation needs.
Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, or a related field.At least five years of experience in administration, management, business development, sales, or marketing.At least five years of experience designing and delivering international experiential programs, including itinerary planning, on-site management, housing, meals, and transportation.Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that generate revenue growth.Proven experience building strategic alliances with international schools, universities, agencies, and educational organizations.Experience representing educational institutions at international fairs, conferences, and networking events.Strong experience in student support, hospitality logistics, and participant well-being within international educational environments.At least three years of experience leading cross-functional teams or field staff.Advanced English proficiency (C1) and advanced Spanish proficiency.Hands-on experience using CRM platforms, preferably HubSpot or Salesforce.Experience managing budgets, monitoring operational costs, and conducting pricing analysis.Knowledge of duty of care, risk assessment, and crisis response protocols for international student travel.Strong cross-cultural communication skills.
Position ConditionsAvailability to work occasionally during evenings and weekends.Availability to work between Santa Ana and San Isidro de Heredia.Willingness and availability to travel as required.
