Paralegal - Corporate, IP & Regulatory

About the role

JJ Roca & Asociados is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious paralegal to join its Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Regulatory team in Santo Domingo. This opportunity is for a high-performing law student interested in the intersection of business, innovation, and law, or a recent law graduate. You will support attorneys on local and international matters related to business structuring, intellectual property protection, and regulatory compliance.

The role provides legal and administrative support to attorneys, contributing to the efficient management of legal matters, organization of documentation, and compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with company formations, corporate filings, and maintenance of corporate records.
• Support trademark portfolio management, including filings, renewals, and oppositions.
• Conduct legal research and help prepare memoranda, reports, and summaries.
• Prepare and format contracts, correspondence, and legal documents.
• Assist attorneys with due diligence and transactional support tasks.
• Coordinate filings and procedures with government agencies and administrative offices.
• Maintain and organize physical and digital legal files.
• Track deadlines, filings, and procedural requirements to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements

• Be a top-performing law student in advanced semesters or a recent law graduate.
• Demonstrate interest in Corporate or Intellectual Property law.
• Have strong legal writing and research skills in Spanish and English.
• Show exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Be able to manage multiple assignments under deadlines.
• Be comfortable working with digital tools and learning new systems.
• Bring a proactive, disciplined, and team-oriented mindset.
