Partner & General Counsel - Legal Domain Expert | Bay Area, CA (Remote)

Location: Bay Area, CA (Remote Eligible)

Mercor1 is seeking a part-time Partner & General Counsel - Legal Domain Expert to join our team in the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of corporate and transactional law and offers a flexible work environment ideal for experienced legal professionals. The successful candidate will provide strategic legal guidance, navigate complex legal issues, and support compliance initiatives, including the integration of AI technologies within legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, business transactions, and contractual agreements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents to ensure compliance and safeguard Mercor1’s interests.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Stay current on laws and regulations impacting corporate and transactional practices.
• Assist with legal considerations related to AI and large language model integrations.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel for specialized legal matters as needed.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Proven legal expertise in corporate and transactional law.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Experience working with AI and large language models in a legal context.
• Prior experience as General Counsel or in a similar senior legal role is preferred.

This role reports directly to senior leadership and requires close collaboration with multiple teams to align legal strategies with business objectives. The position offers a competitive rate of $150 per hour and the flexibility of remote work.
