About the role
Lamini Nurudeen is looking for a motivated PhD candidate to join a laboratory at CABIMER in Seville, Spain, through a funded FPI fellowship. The project investigates the role of spindle microtubule-organizing centers in generating and modulating the cellular transcription landscape.
The research aims to uncover the molecular principles governing RNA localization to single cells and determine how RNA association and transport by spindle microtubule-organizing centers contribute to cellular organization, asymmetric cell division, and cell fate decisions.
Responsibilities
- Investigate RNA localization and the role of spindle microtubule-organizing centers in cellular organization, asymmetric cell division, and cell fate decisions.
- Use cell biology, molecular genetics, advanced microscopy, and models of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and human cell lines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine, or a related Life Sciences field.
- Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, or a related area.
- Admission to a PhD program; enrollment must be completed before contract signature.
- Strong interest in fundamental cell biology.
