Preschool Teacher

Role Description The Preschool Teacher role at Colegio Hélice is a full-time, on-site position based in Guatemala City. The teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Daily tasks include preparing lesson materials, guiding classroom activities, monitoring student progress, and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. The role also involves communicating regularly with families and colleagues, documenting student observations, and collaborating on school events and projects. The Preschool Teacher is expected to participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives that align with the institution’s educational philosophy.Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Early Childhood Education and experience working with preschool or Kindergarten-age children.Strong Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development skills to design structured, developmentally appropriate learning activities.Effective Communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful, and culturally sensitive manner.Ability to create an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports diverse learning needs.Preferably holds a relevant teaching credential, diploma, or degree in Education or a related field.Organizational skills to manage classroom routines, student documentation, and educational resources efficiently.Commitment to ongoing professional growth and openness to feedback and collaboration.Proficiency in Spanish; English language skills are an advantage.
