For professionals in any of the following fields: Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, Journalism.Language: upper written and verbal communication skills in EnglishTeaching hours per week: 3, all in-person lectures, campus República, Santiago, Chile.Class size: small groups, 6-8 students per classSchedule: Tuesdays 2pm to 4pm and Thursdays 2-3pmCalendar: Starting August 27, 2026 and finishing December 12, 2026. There is 1 week off in October.Salary: total for the course CLP $2,100,000 gross pay to split in 4 months ($525.000 monthly)
Role Description The Profesor for Introduction to Communication and Media Studies will teach undergrad students in an academically rigorous, culturally immersive environment in Santiago . This part-time, on-site role involves planning and delivering lectures and discussions, implementing syllabi and assessments, and facilitating critical engagement with communication and media theories, practices, and case studies. The instructor will adapt course content to an international cohort, incorporate local and global media examples, and support students in developing analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Responsibilities include grading assignments, providing feedback, holding office hours (1 per week) upon request, and collaborating with staff to align the course with program objectives and experiential learning activities. The role is based in Santiago, República area.
QualificationsAdvanced knowledge in Communication, Media Studies, Marketing, Journalism or a closely related field; a master’s degree or PhD is strongly preferred.Eperience in university-level teaching, syllabus development, and assessment of student learning outcomes.Strong skills in academic instruction and facilitation, such as leading discussions, guiding critical analysis of media texts, and supporting diverse learning styles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to teach in an intercultural, study-abroad context, including sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory pedagogy.Experience or interest in integrating experiential learning, local media examples, and global perspectives into course content.Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage grading, feedback, and classroom preparation in a part-time role.Familiarity with using digital tools and learning platforms to support instruction, communication, and resource sharing.
