The organization focuses on highlighting the people, ecosystems, cultures, and communities where they live, work, and travel.Role Description The Program Leader is a temporary, on-site role based in San Domingo, responsible for overseeing day-to-day delivery of curated travel programs. This role coordinates itineraries, manages logistics, and supports local partners to ensure seamless, culturally respectful experiences for travelers. The Program Leader guides groups on excursions, facilitates learning activities, and provides high-quality customer service throughout each program. They monitor program outcomes, collect feedback, and work with in-country teams to refine offerings and address issues promptly. The role requires close collaboration with local businesses and community stakeholders to maintain Offbeat Travel’s standards of safety, sustainability, and cultural immersion.QualificationsProgram Management skills to plan, coordinate, and execute travel programs and group logistics.Analytical Skills to assess program performance, interpret feedback, and identify opportunities for improvement.Strong Communication abilities for interacting with travelers, local partners, and internal teams in a clear and culturally sensitive manner.Training experience to brief travelers, guide groups, and share context on local customs, safety, and program activities.Customer Service skills to respond to traveler needs, resolve issues quickly, and maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment.Ability to work on-site in San José with flexibility in schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Experience in travel, hospitality, education, or community-based programs is highly beneficial.Knowledge of culturally immersive or sustainable travel practices; proficiency in Spanish and English is a plus.
