About the role
SCA Group is seeking an experienced QHSE & Environmental Manager to oversee quality, health and safety, and environmental compliance for an ongoing project in Soto Cano, Honduras. The role focuses on ensuring project activities and services meet established quality, HSE, environmental, and regulatory requirements, with particular responsibility for waste management, waste disposal, grey water and wastewater management, and environmental controls.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor QA/QC, HSE, and environmental procedures and standards.
- Oversee waste segregation, storage, collection, transportation, and disposal procedures.
- Monitor grey water and wastewater management and ensure appropriate handling and disposal.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
- Monitor subcontractors and service providers for compliance with quality, HSE, and environmental requirements.
- Identify non-conformities, risks, incidents, and environmental issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to quality, HSE, waste management, environmental compliance, and corrective actions.
- Support incident investigations and implementation of preventive and corrective measures.
- Guide operational teams on quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Honduran environmental, waste management, and occupational health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a QA/QC, HSE, Environmental, EHS, QHSE, or similar role, preferably in project-based or operational environments.
- Demonstrated experience with waste management, wastewater and grey water, environmental compliance, and site inspections.
- Knowledge of Honduran environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
