Descripción del empleo

Real Estate Associate | NYCA well-established firm with a strong, active real estate practice is hiring a mid-level associate. The group handles a steady mix of complex transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, development deals, and financings, for a solid roster of institutional clients including private equity funds, REITs, developers, and financial institutions.
The RoleThis is a chance to work closely with experienced real estate attorneys on substantive, complex deal work rather than getting lost in a large, compartmentalized practice group. You'll get real exposure to the business side of real estate investing, working across a range of asset classes including hospitality, healthcare, industrial, multifamily, office, and mixed-use.
Key ResponsibilitiesHandle complex real estate transactions including joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, and dispositionsWork on real estate M&A and financing mattersCollaborate with attorneys on deal teams, with direct access to senior lawyers rather than layers of hierarchyDraft, negotiate, and structure transaction documents with meaningful independenceRepresent a varied client base including private equity and investment funds, real estate operating companies, development partners, REITs, and institutional lenders
Your Future at the FirmThe practice covers real estate M&A, joint ventures, development, and financing, giving associates room to find their footing across different deal types before narrowing in on a specialty if they choose to. Because the group isn't oversized, associates tend to get more direct partner contact and more ownership of matters earlier than they might at a larger shop.
Who You AreYou're a strong drafter and a sharp analytical thinker who can manage complex transactions with real organizational discipline. You understand real estate as a business, not just a legal exercise, and you want a practice where your work is visible rather than buried in a large team.
Required QualificationsAt least three years of experience in complex real estate transactionsExperience with joint ventures, development projects, acquisitions, dispositions, real estate M&A, and financingsStrong drafting, analytical, and organizational skillsSolid understanding of the business fundamentals of real estate investing
Compensation$180,000 - $320,000 base, with discretionary bonus eligibility depending on individual and firm performance.
