Research Associate

About the role

Recluta Talenthunter / Latin America is seeking a Research Associate to work directly with the firm’s Senior Analyst & Managing Director in San José, Costa Rica. The role provides direct exposure to global equity investment research at an institutional level and hands-on experience with a rigorous fundamental investment process. Over time, it is expected to evolve into a position with responsibility for fundamental investment research and contribution to investment thesis development.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the investment team to maintain and operate the firm’s proprietary multi-factor screening infrastructure and database, Bloomberg-linked and updated monthly across 1,400+ global stocks.
• Build and maintain financial models, valuation analyses, and earnings trackers for a defined set of global equity holdings.
• Analyze and synthesize earnings call transcripts, management communications, company filings, and research publications into structured investment summaries.
• Support the preparation of investor-facing materials, including data exhibits, company case studies, and due diligence responses.
• Conduct company and industry research to support ongoing investment analysis.
• Over time, contribute to the development and refinement of investment theses and participate in the weekly investment research call.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree / Licenciatura in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A strong academic background in a quantitative or finance-related discipline is preferred.
• 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, asset management, or another rigorous analytical role within financial services.
• Strong financial modelling skills.
