The SAP Integration Architect is responsible for designing, governing, and implementing end-to-end integration solutions across SAP and non-SAP ecosystems. This role goes beyond traditional SAP-centric integration approaches and focuses on hybrid architectures that leverage both SAP-native tools (e.g., SAP BTP Integration Suite, Event Mesh, API Management) and external platforms such as Kafka, Azure APIs, and cloud-native services.
Key Responsibilities:Define and govern the enterprise integration architecture across SAP and non-SAP systemsDesign scalable and reusable integration solutions using both SAP-native and external technologiesEnsure adherence to Clean Core principles by minimizing core modifications and promoting decoupled architectures in S/4HANA environments (On-Premise and RISE)Lead the design of event-driven architectures using tools such as Kafka and SAP Event MeshDesign and oversee API strategies, including exposure, consumption, and lifecycle governanceEnable hybrid integration scenarios across on-premise and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Tech Skills:
Proven experience as an SAP Integration Architect in complex enterprise environmentsHands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA in both: o On-Premise deployments o RISE with SAP (S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition)Strong hands-on experience with SAP integration technologies: o SAP PI/PO o SAP CPI (Cloud Platform Integration) o SAP BTP Integration Suite (including API Management and Event Mesh)Experience integrating SAP with non-SAP technologies and platforms: o Apache Kafka (event-driven architectures) o Azure Integration Services (APIs, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Functions) o Exposure to AWS and Google Cloud integration servicesSolid knowledge of integration mechanisms and protocols: o REST, SOAP, OData o File-based integrations and EDI scenariosExperience designing integration patterns: o Synchronous vs asynchronous o Event-driven architectures o Real-time and batch processing
