Role Description The Secretary Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based at San Blas Dental in Coamo, Puerto Rico. This role involves greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, answering phone calls, and responding to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
Daily tasks include scheduling and confirming appointments, maintaining up-to-date patient records, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow. The Secretary Receptionist also handles administrative duties such as organizing files, processing payments, managing insurance information, and preparing basic correspondence and forms. This position plays a key role in creating a positive first impression and supporting an efficient, patient-centered office environment.
Qualifications Administrative and office skills, including appointment scheduling, file management, and basic data entry.Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the dental care team.Organization and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily responsibilities.Basic computer proficiency with practice management or scheduling software, email, and standard office applications.Professional telephone etiquette and ability to manage calls, messages, and inquiries efficiently.Attention to detail for handling patient information, insurance data, and payment processing accurately.Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and healthcare regulations.High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a medical or dental office is preferred.Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is highly beneficial for serving a diverse patient population.
